THE OPPORTUNITY YOU NEVER SAW

Why two equally capable people can look at the exact same situation and walk away seeing completely different possibilities.

A PRIVATE TEACHING FROM RJ SPINA:

My Friend,

Think about something that almost nobody thinks about...

Every opportunity you've ever acted upon had to pass one test before anything else could happen.

YOU HAD TO SEE IT.

Obvious, right?

Maybe not.

Because I'm not talking about whether your eyes physically saw something.

I'm talking about whether your mind ever recognized what was standing directly in front of you as an opportunity.

Those are two completely different things.

And once you understand that distinction...

you may start looking at your entire life differently.

TWO PEOPLE. SAME ROOM. DIFFERENT REALITY.

Put two intelligent, capable people in the exact same situation.

Same information.

Same conversation.

Same economy.

Same room.

Same opportunity.

One becomes curious.

The other dismisses it.

One asks another question.

The other changes the subject.

One makes the call.

The other says, “Maybe later.”

One sees possibility.

The other sees absolutely nothing unusual.

Then five years later...

one of them says:

“I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING WITH THAT.”

Did they?

Or did they only recognize the opportunity after somebody else showed them what it could become?

There's a very big difference.

YOU ONLY KNOW ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITIES YOU NOTICED.

This is where things get interesting.

You can remember the opportunities you recognized and didn't act upon.

You can regret the phone call you didn't make.

The introduction you didn't pursue.

The idea you talked yourself out of.

The question you didn't ask.

The move you almost made.

But what about everything you never recognized at all?

You can't regret something you never saw.

You can't analyze it.

You can't learn from it.

You can't tell yourself you'll do better next time.

It simply passes through your life...

without ever registering as important.

And that's the part almost nobody considers.

WHAT DECIDES WHAT GETS YOUR ATTENTION?

Most people like to believe they're objectively looking at the world and then making decisions about what they see.

I'm suggesting something very different.

Before you consciously decide what matters, you already have an enormous collection of assumptions influencing your attention.

What you believe is possible.

What you believe is realistic.

What you believe is worth pursuing.

What feels safe.

What feels dangerous.

What seems ridiculous.

What seems obvious.

What somebody “like you” should do.

What somebody “like you” would never do.

And perhaps most importantly...

what you've learned to ignore.

This doesn't require anything mystical.

Your attention is selective.

It has to be.

There is far more information around you at any given moment than you could possibly process consciously.

So you filter.

You sort.

You prioritize.

You dismiss.

Constantly.

And most of it happens without you sitting there deliberately deciding:

“I shall now ignore this potentially important thing.”

You simply don't give it your attention.

SUCCESS DOESN'T MAKE YOU IMMUNE TO THIS.

In fact, this is where accomplished people can get themselves into trouble.

Success teaches you things.

Some of those lessons are extraordinarily useful.

You develop judgment.

Standards.

Experience.

Pattern recognition.

You learn what works.

You stop wasting time on things that don't.

All good.

But experience can also quietly become a filter.

I've seen this before.

That won't work.

That's not how this business operates.

People don't pay for that.

I'm too old to start that.

I'm already doing fine.

That's outside my wheelhouse.

Maybe you're right.

Sometimes you absolutely are.

But what about the times you're not?

That's the question.

Because the more successful you become, the easier it can be to confuse:

“I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING”

with:

“THERE'S NOTHING HERE I HAVEN'T ALREADY LEARNED TO SEE.”

Those are not remotely the same statement.

YOUR GREATEST BLIND SPOT MAY BE SOMETHING YOU'RE VERY GOOD AT.

Think about your own life.

You've probably had moments when somebody less experienced than you asked an incredibly simple question...

and suddenly you saw the entire problem differently.

Nothing outside of you changed.

The information was already there.

Your relationship to the information changed.

Or perhaps you've revisited an idea you rejected years earlier and suddenly thought:

Wait a minute...

Why didn't I see that before?

Maybe circumstances changed.

Maybe you changed.

Maybe you finally had enough experience to recognize something that previously meant nothing to you.

Whatever the explanation...

the opportunity didn't necessarily begin the moment you recognized it.

Your ability to recognize it did.

That's fascinating to me.

THIS IS WHY I DON'T START WITH THE SCOREBOARD.

Money gets everybody's attention.

I understand.

But money is usually sitting much farther down the chain than people realize.

Before money changes hands, something happens.

Someone recognizes something.

Someone asks.

Someone offers.

Someone solves.

Someone creates.

Someone negotiates.

Someone decides.

Someone acts.

Money may eventually become part of the result.

But staring at the result tells you very little about the machinery that preceded it.

It's like staring at the scoreboard and believing you've figured out how the game was played.

You haven't.

You're looking at the evidence left behind by the game.

I'm much more interested in what happened before the number changed.

WHAT DID YOU SEE?

What caught your attention?

Why?

What did you almost dismiss?

What made you look twice?

What question did you ask that you normally wouldn't have asked?

What conversation did you finally have?

Where did you act instead of waiting?

Where did you stop assuming you already knew the answer?

And here's an even more interesting question:

WHAT ARE YOU NOT SEEING RIGHT NOW?

I can't answer that for you.

That's the point.

If you already knew...

it wouldn't be a blind spot.

And this is precisely why collecting more information doesn't automatically solve the problem.

You can read another book.

Watch another video.

Take another course.

Listen to another expert.

And still run every new piece of information through the same old filters.

More information enters.

The same machinery sorts it.

The same assumptions decide what's important.

And you wonder why the same patterns keep showing up.

THAT'S THE MACHINE I'M INTERESTED IN.

Not some magical portal that makes things appear.

You.

The person doing the seeing.

The interpreting.

The deciding.

The acting.

That's where my work on the Mechanics of Money became much more interesting.

Because once you stop asking only:

“How do I get a different result?”

you can begin asking:

“What inside me keeps producing the decisions that create the results I already have?”

Now you've got something worth examining.

Something you can observe.

Something you can challenge.

Something you can potentially change.

And perhaps most importantly...

something you can test in your actual life.

DON'T BELIEVE ME. START WATCHING YOURSELF.

For the next few days, pay attention.

Not to signs.

Not to coincidences.

Not to whether the Universe sends you a check.

Watch yourself.

Notice what you immediately dismiss.

Notice where you hesitate.

Notice the idea you automatically explain away.

Notice when somebody says something and your first reaction is:

That won't work.

Then ask yourself:

How do I know?

Not because you're supposed to say yes to everything.

That's foolish.

The goal isn't to abandon judgment.

It's to become conscious of how your judgment is being formed.

There's an enormous difference.

You may discover that some of your filters are excellent.

Keep them.

You may discover others were installed twenty years ago and haven't been questioned since.

Those are worth another look.

Because you cannot deliberately change a pattern...

until you can catch yourself running it.

THIS IS WHERE WEALTH METAPHYSICS BEGINS.

Not with staring at money.

Not with wishing.

Not with pretending.

And certainly not with waiting for something magical to rescue you.

It begins with becoming much more conscious of the person who is doing the seeing, choosing and acting.

I've built an entire 90-day Wealth Metaphysics experience around exploring and applying these ideas much more deeply.

It includes my Money Avatar training, more than eight hours of deprogramming audio, private teachings, ongoing emails and weekly videos, and physical Collector's Edition Seeker materials I'll mail directly to your home.

But don't go there because you think I'm promising you some predetermined financial outcome.

I'm not.

Go there if this teaching just made you wonder:

“What the hell have I been missing?”

Because that's a question worth investigating.
